My husband is the most famous king in the history of Spain, renowned for his astonishing intellectual capacity and reviled for his spectacular political failures.

But no one stops to think that the king couldn’t do any of that without the unfailing aid of a queen.

Another strong woman has been ignored at best and at worst, erased from the historical record.

I am that queen. This is my story.
